Heart Wreath (Cowgirl)

My wonderful sister-in-law just re-did my niece's room in a 'pink outdoor' theme. I wanted to make something special (and cute) for the room, so I stalked over to Tater Tots and Jello http://tatertotsandjello.com/2010/09/happy-halloween-wreath-tutorial.html where I found this cute wreath and decided to put my own spin on it...

First, I went to Hobby Lobby where I bought a heart shaped wire wreath & various sizes of coordinating ribbon.

I then cut my ribbon into 5 inch strips. Above is an example of when I started, but I used all 7 spools of ribbon completely. You will need even more ribbon if you want the ribbon completely covering your wreath (I only did the front and sides)

I used my handy hot glue gun to make a loop. I prefer to have one side of the ribbon just a tad bit longer than the other other, as I think it makes it easier to glue & position.

Next, I wrapped my heart in pink ribbon. Don't worry if it doesn't look perfect, you won't be able to see any imperfections once it is completed.

Start gluing away. I simply hot glued the ribbons on. I started off too conservative and went back and added more ribbon at the end to give it a fuller look. you can always add more ribbon to get the look you desire :)

Viola! Its done. I added a length of ribbon at the top with a loop (achieved with hot glue of course) so she could hang on the wall.

*This project took about 2 1/2 hours to complete.
